It is important not to overwhelm your puppy during these first interactions.  Just like with humans, it is natural for a puppy to be frightened the first time they experience something new.  There are several signs to look out for that indicate that your puppy may be fearful. Signs of fear include tucking their tail, shaking, whining, yawning, licking their lips, or trying to hide or back away.  If your puppy is displaying any signs of fear, move further away from the object of Socialization. Or you can try introducing a less intense version of it.  For example, try a less busy street with fewer people and noises if your dog shows signs of discomfort.
