Of all the hikes near NYC, Lake Awosting is our favorite! Lake Awosting is a 7.9 mile loop. AllTrails rates this hike as moderate. This hike contains beautiful views of the lake. There are multiple spots where you can stop and put your feet or take a dip in the lake. There are people mountain biking on this trail, so always be on the lookout for someone whizzing by.

2) Rainbow Falls – Minnewaska State Park
Rainbow Falls is 6.5 miles long. AllTrails rates this hike as moderate. This trail features a beautiful waterfall, so go after a big rainfall to fully take advantage.
